Information for consumers before purchase
This page summarises the information you need before subscribing to motordevs as a consumer. The full legal terms are in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Who you are contracting with
Giorgos Sakkas, sole trader in Greece. Email [email protected]. Postal address available on request.
2. What you are buying
A subscription to motordevs — a web-based suite of engineering tools for designing electric machines (winding designer, motor design tools, 2D magnetostatic finite-element analysis, related compute). What is included in your plan is shown on the pricing page and on the checkout screen.
3. The price
The total price, inclusive of any applicable VAT, is shown at checkout before you confirm the purchase. The price is also repeated on the invoice we send you by email. There are no hidden charges. Payment is processed by Stripe.
4. Duration and renewal
Subscriptions run for the period you select (typically monthly or annual) and renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel before the end of the current period. You can cancel any time from your account settings.
5. Your right of withdrawal (14-day cooling-off)
Under Art. 3e Law 2251/1994 and Art. 9 of Directive 2011/83/EU you have 14 days from the day you subscribe to withdraw from the contract without giving any reason. Email [email protected] within those 14 days to exercise it. We refund your payment within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal request.
At checkout you can either:
- tick the boxes that ask for immediate access to motordevs and acknowledge that you waive the right of withdrawal in respect of any service we have already performed (then your subscription starts at once); or
- leave those boxes unticked, in which case your subscription starts after the 14-day withdrawal window ends, and you can still freely withdraw during it.
Full text in Terms § 8.5. The EU model withdrawal form (Annex I.B of Directive 2011/83/EU) is available at eur-lex.europa.eu; you may use it but you are not required to.
6. What we promise about quality
motordevs is engineering software. Solver outputs are approximate. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any specific result, and you must independently verify any result before relying on it for hardware decisions, regulatory submissions, or safety-critical work. See Terms § 6.
Your statutory rights as a consumer under Greek Law 2251/1994 and EU Directive 2019/770 (digital content and digital services) are not excluded or limited by anything we say. If the service we deliver is not in conformity with what we promised, you can require us to bring it into conformity, or get a price reduction or termination of the contract, on the terms set out in those laws.
7. Where the service is provided
Online, accessed via your browser at motordevs.com. Hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). See our Privacy Policy for where data is stored.
8. Complaints and dispute resolution
See Terms § 18 (Complaints). You can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr, or contact the Greek Consumer Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή) at synigoroskatanaloti.gr.
9. Governing law and jurisdiction
Greek law governs the contract. As a consumer, you may bring proceedings against us either in the Greek courts or in the courts of the EU member state in which you are habitually resident. We may bring proceedings against you only in the courts of your habitual residence (Brussels Ia Regulation Arts 17–19). You also benefit from the mandatory consumer-law protections of your country of habitual residence (Rome I Regulation Art. 6).
